How is Tahini Produced?

The  raw  material  of  tahini  is sesame. It is  produced  from   the seeds of the sesame plant ,  which has an aromatic  taste. Tahini  is  a condiment   obtained  by  peeling the  shell  of sesame, roasting it to its    consistency  and  grinding  it.

No by- products  or  additives  are added   while    producing   tahini.
In accordance with the geographical characteristics of the countries and the climate in which they are grown, the most delicious sesame seeds are grown in Turkey, and  the  excellent  aroma  and health benefits of  tahini  obtained from domestic  sesame seeds have also taken  their  place  in scientific studies.

When Was Tahini First Discovered?

Tahini was first used in the ancient Middle  East . and  it  has  been claimed  that  it  is  produced  by planting sesame  seeds  in South East of Turkey. According  to the archaeological   records  , it  was determined that sesame oil was used as food, lotion and medicine by the Assyrians  (2000  -  600 BC), especially  for  the  wealthy . It  is stated that for centuries, only the aristocracy and  the  rich  could reach tahini due to the difficulty of obtaining it, and it was even used as  a  currency  in  some  cultures.
Tahini  was   first   discovered  in Mesopotamia  over  the  Assyrian civilization BC. Tahini, which came around  2000 ,  has  become  a popular food with its healing and calming properties and nutritious structure. The  development of a method   for   prolonging   and protecting the life of fruits dates back to BC. It dates back to the 1st century.
